The South African Football Association Cape Town Region is an organization committed to developing communities through the game of football. South Africa Football Association Cape Town(SAFA Cape Town) is an organisation committed to developing communities through soccer.
Established in 2006 with the aim of decreasing high levels of crime among young teenagers. SAFA Cape Town is the biggest affiliation of the South African Football Association with more than 120 000 members. Comprising of 35 Local Football Association which covers areas including Helderberg, Simonstown, and Atlantic (Metropole) in excess of 850 clubs playing in our Association. It is recorded that before this data, SAFA Cape Town was known as “SAFA Western Province”. For the period 23 March 1991 up to, and including, 30 April 2006. SAFA Cape Town is the most successful amateur football body. Our focus is to actively develop skills of players (boys and girls), coaches, referees and administrators and thereby accelerating a football system that takes advantage of technology and can be of educational value to all our members.
SAFA Cape Town therefore is composed of the SOUTH AFRICA SOCCER ASSOCIATION, SOUTH AFRICAN SOCCER FEDERATION, FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF SOUTH AFRICA, and the SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION into an indissoluble single organisation under the SOUTH AFRICAN FOOTBALL ASSOCATION. It was established to promote and control Association Football in SOUTH AFRICA. On the 23rd of March 1991 one National football governing body was constituted and re- admitted to CAF and FIFA.
